Washoe K-12 Education Foundation
Vision
As a creative and pioneering public education foundation, the Washoe K-12 Education Foundation will be one of the premier private funding organizations in the nation by successfully raising the resources necessary to ensure all Washoe County School District students graduate college and/or are highly-skilled and career ready. Since 2011, more than $4 million has been raised in grants and pledges.
Commitment to Donors
As a private foundation, WEF commits to supporting programs and projects which are priorities of the Washoe County School District Superintendent while protecting the integrity of our generous donors. In addition to deliberate, careful project review of each grant opportunity, the WEF Board of Directors will provide transparency, frequent follow up and accountability to donors. To ensure that all grant funds go directly to benefit our children and their families, all WEF operating costs will be funded by the Board of Directors.
Mission
To raise and leverage private and public resources to directly support essential Washoe County School District initiatives, which otherwise would not be fully realized. All Washoe K-12 Education Foundation-supported programs will contribute and be evaluated in relation to goals set forth in the self-imposed WCSD strategic plan, Envision 2015- Investing in Our Future.
